Calx - Organic Art

Calx has been producing art for Trance artists and events for many years. Working with Twisted Records, Shpongle, Hallucinogen and Tristan to name but a few.

Following is a collection of work produced in the late 1990's for various different trance related projects.


Gallery:

Picture 1 "LongRange 0.002":

Created as part of the LongRange series while writing the "Flak" system, the software at the core of calx organic art. This image was used for The Tranc.ition calendar for 2001 and for several exhibitions throughout Europe in 2002, it was also published in CGI Magazine

Picture 2 "Longrange X":

This form was grown specifically for the 2002 Tranc.ition calendar, and uses the same set of algoriths as the original LongRange 0.004

Picture 3 "Hallucinogen In Dub Cover Image":

This form was grown specifically for the the cover of Hallucinogen in Dub (TWSCD16 / Twisted Records) and is use of 'Caustics' in the render process to produce a more realistic overall effect.

Picture 4 "Longrange 0.001":

This image was designed for use at a trance party as a backdrop for use at a Brighton based nightclub.

Picture 5:

This was an experiment, using different textures on more complex forms.

Picture 7 "Calx Mousemat":

This is the most recent image - produced to be printed on mousemats, currently for sale on the calx website.

Picture 8 "Shpongle Mask":

For the limited edition release of Are You Shpongled? on Vinyl (Twisted Records) Recreated the Shpongle mask featured on the cover of the original CD version as a 3D mesh, Also featured on the minidisk version and still in development.

Picture 9 "Mi-Loony-Um single Cover (CD)":

Another organic form - grown for the cover image of the Mi -Loony-Um single by Hallucinogen (TWST13 / Twisted Records)

Picture 10 "Long Range 0.008":

Another organic form.
